Last month, December 22, there was a massive fire that engulfed 3 apartments buildings near Alamo Square in San Francisco, CA. Due to the heavy smoke many buildings in the surrounding area had to be evacuated, especially an elderly care facility. The American Red Cross was at the scene and set up an evacuation center to assist residents. There we over 30 units affected by the fire. About 140 fire fighters responded to the fire. There were at least 2 injured, one being a fire fighter and the other a civilian from the smoke inhalation. The wind caused a lot of challenges also the building was a wooden structure.
This is the second San francisco apartment fire that happened in December, 2011. Referring to the December 2nd fire that took place in a building that had 6 apartments and housed 35 residents. 2 were in critical condition and rushed to the hospital to be treated for burn injuries. 2 other people were injured but it was minor. The cause of the fire is unknown but was started on the top floor.
Incidents such as these are very scary but sometimes can not be prevented. Injuries being sustained is a very serious problem. Even if you are not injured there can still be a major property loss to an individual. This includes furniture, tv’s, clothes, computers, and any other personal belongings. Renters insurance can protect you against loss to your personal belongings.
Renters insurance is very inexpensive compared to the coverage that it offers. Not only is personal property coverage provided but Liability is also included in the policy. I can offer Renters Insurance at about $105/yr on average.
Another plus for renters insurance when requested through me, is that I can offer a major discount on your Auto Insurance.
